THANK YOU! Holiday Letter 2011

Posted by on December 15, 2011 with 0 Comments

On behalf of My Neighbors Foundation we would like to wish you and your family a wonderful Holiday Season.

This past year, we have helped over 400 students. As MNF enters our 5th year, our goal is to continue to reach every student in need. Our presence in the schools and community is growing, which will help us continue our mission.

As you know, My Neighbors Foundation has had a very busy year. This year we had more fundraising events. We began the year with our annual Elvis Show in April. It was once again a sell-out, raising $2,200. In September, we added our newest event, a Shred-it Day, which was very successful. We raised over $3,000!

We have scheduled a second Shred-it Day for Saturday, April 21st, 2012 so mark your calendars! We started October with our annual Exxon Kick-off weekend, with the Hereford Exxon donating $2,200 in proceeds from the sales of gas to MNF. This year we also hosted our 4th annual Crab and Bull Roast and had to add a 2nd date to accommodate all of our guests. Together we raised over $9,000. In November, we had our 2nd annual Wagon Wheel Breakfast for Dinner in which we served close to 500 people. This event raised $3,100. Wow, what a great year!

My Neighbors Foundation would like to thank you for your support.

We are able to continue our mission because of neighbors like you. Our goal for 2012 is to reach every child in need. If you know of a family in Hereford that is facing an economic hardship that could use our services for their children’s school needs please contact us.

Best Wishes for a Happy & Healthy New Year!

Sincerely,
My Neighbors Foundation

2010 Christmas Gift Giving Campaign

Hereford High School Future Business Leaders of America Supports Families of My Neighbors Foundation for Christmas

This holiday season the Hereford High School Future Business Leaders of America partnered with My Neighbors Foundation in a campaign to provide Christmas gifts for area families in need. Since our organization is not able to provide items for Christmas, as it is outside the scope of our mission statement, we still felt the need to help. MNF was able to identify the families that needed help and the HHS FBLA did the rest.

The members of the Future Business Leaders of America collected donations and then did all the shopping for and wrapping of the presents. We also had families of our community sponsor some of the families for Christmas. We were able to provide a special Christmas for 15 families.

Below are just a few of the letters of gratitude we received.  MNF would like to extend a thank you to  ALL of our supporters who helped this holiday season.

Dear My Neighbor’s Foundation and Future Business Leader’s of America (HHS),

I would like to thank you for helping my family during this holiday season. I had lost my job, suddenly, after almost 25 years and truly did not think there would be any gifts for my children this year. Not only did you help my children but my grandson as well! There are many families in need in are area and it is such a comforting feeling to know you have someplace to turn for your children.

This is the only program in the North County area that helps families in need financially, whether it is just for a pair of shoes so they can play outdoor soccer, new school supplies or gifts to put under your tree when there would have been none. I am not sure what I would have done without all of your help.

I cannot thank you enough. God Bless you.

A Thankful Family!!

Dear Linda and FBLA,

I only have a moment, but wanted to say thank you so very much for all you’ve done for us.  I’m still at a loss for words.

Santa came this year and he was awesome.  We are all shocked.  Santa brought us games and so many nice things.  He gave us warm clothes and boots for winter.  Everyone had a blast and we truly thank all that were involved for all their time, caring , commitment and hard work that it took to pull this off.  Our hearts were touched and we thank you for everything!  Thank you so very much for making a wonderful day possible.  Thank you thank you thank you!

From a family that was blessed by a generous community and caring people.

You made a memorable difference in our lives.

Thank you!

Dear Friends,

Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity.  Your gift to my children and me was a wonderful addition to our Christmas celebration.  I am especially touched that you gave this gift anonymously.  What a selfless gesture.  Again, thank you very much and Merry Christmas!

Sincerely,
A Hereford Family

How you can help all year long

We also need your help to bring awareness of how we help neighbors. Anyone (school personnel, parents, friends etc.) can make a request to MNF on behalf of a student. Contact your school counselor to complete a fund request form. All requests are confidential and are reviewed on a case by case basis.

We raised $778!

The event was so much fun, that MNF may host another one in the near future.
